Wash & Care

Before washing, make sure any solid matter is removed from your product. For items with heavy soiling that may stain or develop odors, rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear before storing for wash day.
For a deep clean, start with a pre-wash on a short cycle using warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) and the recommended amount of detergent, such as Tide Original to Line 1. Follow with a heavy-duty, longest-cycle wash in warm or cold water, again using the appropriate detergent amount. To ensure proper agitation, add other items to create a full load.
For everyday or lighter messes or items already pre-rinsed, a regular cycle in cold or warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) with the normal amount of detergent is sufficient.
Whenever possible, hang to dry. If you’re in a rush, you can tumble dry on low.

How do you wash & dry Lifesaver Mats?

How much can Lifesaver Mats absorb?

That’s a great question! Unfortunately it is a little tricky to answer. If you evenly and steadily distributed water across the entire mat, we could probably give you an amount, but that’s not really how most humans leak and therefore not how the mats get used. We do have this handy video to show you how our Lifesaver Mats absorb. This should give you an idea of how it works and if it will be a good fit for the mess you have in mind!

I have the 3 different sized lifesaver mats, and the wet/dry bag. I use the lifesaver mats all the time! They are wonderful for puking kids and the occasional accident. They also keep our bed dry during my husband and I's intimate time so there is no wet spot. I won't use towels anymore for sick kids since the vomit and "accidents" soak right through them. These have saved my couch during norovirus, and I am ordering more so I can have more in rotation so there's always a clean/dry one ready to replace the soiled one. I've used them outside for blankets in the grass, and just literally anything you'd use a towel/blanket for. You won't regret it, there are a million uses, like a Thneed (from the Lorax), only better!
